Southern California Spooks opened up in 1997 basically as a little info site on hauntings in Orange County. After a bit of research it turned out that there really weren’t enough recorded hauntings in Orange County to warrant a whole web site. Following that ‘discovery’ i decided to widen the scope and include not only ‘The OC’, but the whole Southern California region as well.

In the beginning this site was hosted by Geocities during their little ‘online neighborhood’ phase in which every personal website was accorded a faux address. I wasn’t able to land anything remotely related to the spooky nature of SoCal Spooks, instead being plopped into the locality dubbed ‘Times Square’. I’ve had relatively limited success with meta tags and such, honestly though, who’da thunk that they actually worked?

It’s always a pleasure to get an e-mail from someone who’s found the site, and actually liked it! But one must wonder, just how in the hell did they find it? So, this site has maintained an online presence since 1997, that would make it roughly 7 years. Although, i’d say for about the last 4 to 5 years, it has fallen into a state of neglect. I personally blame that charming little diddle we call “life”, but it’s back now, ready to be seen by the world… all 3 of you. So enjoy!
